Building foundations for long term success

Our units blend practical and theory through an inquiry-based approach, keeping students engaged, curious, and connected to real-world food skills they'll actually use.

Year 7-8 Units of Learning

Each unit contains between 3 and 15 lessons and is flexible and adaptable with a mix of theory and practical options to suit any school setting or teacher's needs 🙌

We update existing units and introduce new units each year to ensure our resources align with each learning area's curriculum refresh

Our classroom-based units create a foundation that can be strengthened through our Kitchen Based units, which support Food Technology and Food & Nutrition teachers when ākonga spend time with them on their specialist subject rotations.

EATucation resources!

  • "This is such an epic program! I can't believe we have gone so long without it! The videos are awesome and made for NZ schools, the curriculum connections are thorough, and the kids love the lessons. I have saved so much time since joining and am able to cover so much more! It's also great to have the te reo and tikanga there too, and the relief lessons are so useful."

  • "As a food teacher, I've always wanted to see more food education taught in the school, and finally, there is a program that makes this so easy to do! Great units for me and for classroom teachers to use as well. The resources are beautifully designed, and the planning is all done. It saves me so much time! The way the lessons cover so many parts of food and make wider connections to practical learning is super. A great mix of theory and practical lessons make the program flexible for any school to pick up and run with."

  • "We love everything about the programme. The detailed planning, achievement objectives, learning intentions, success criteria and lesson overviews provide teachers and students with clear goals for each session. The videos allow my students to be well planned and prepared. The recipes are affordable and open students up to new ideas."

  • "I love the variety of activities provided. I like that I have choices and inspiration for activities and recipes, and I can choose what I want to use for each unit. I love your videos because they are targeted to NZ students and are spot on for the unit being taught."

  • "I absolutely love that you include everything that is needed to present a lesson...activities, videos, notes, workbook, etc. Being able to adapt the resources to fit my class and programme. Covering every year level from ECE to NCEA is fantastic for an Area school. Having a reasonable fee structure that makes it easy to access is especially important for Area schools."

  • "As a Head of Department, I would absolutely recommend it. I would say to heads of department, go for it, you won't regret it. It's better, less expensive, the kids are more engaged, and really, your teachers are going to be far less stressed and happy, and that's got to be a good thing."

  • "The video demos are awesome, and some of the lesson based activities are really valuable. Also, the relief lessons are a mint feature."

  • "A lot of my students take the recipes home to cook for their families. The resources are amazing and reinforce the learning in our practical sessions. The Tech programmes are awesome for teaching students the technology process, and many of the skills can be applied to real-life learning. All of my students are really enjoying EATucation."

  • "The resources provided by EATucation are clear and concise, offering ample opportunities to engage students. Also, the flexibility within the lessons to adapt to the specific needs of students and classes is a significant advantage."

  • "OMG - love that you have relief lessons too!"

  • "The addition of relief lessons is a fantastic idea, providing a valuable resource for times of illness or absence. Furthermore, I greatly appreciate the advanced pre-planning information regarding ingredients and preparation, which allows me to be well-prepared. EATucation has also effectively resolved any issues that have arisen, even when they are busy. I have thoroughly enjoyed working through the selected materials and look forward to continuing next term."

  • "From what I've noticed as a head of department, the student engagement is huge, compared to previous years. The Literacy links and their frameworks are fantastic. The food tech teacher has way more time to prepare, organise students, and mark work, and they are less stressed, which is huge. It's a workload issue. They are considerably less expensive than our previous provider, and the resources are far better - really, really good resources. I'm very impressed with that.

  • "Teaching has become more enjoyable having all the resources and knowledge from your program. It's given me the support I need to be a better teacher for my students. Thank you!"

  • You have been a total lifesaver! Please keep it up!!"

  • "As an Area School teacher, I can use your resources across all the different year levels.

  • "We love having the video demonstrations of the practical lessons! It saves so much time and also resources, and it's amazing to have a program where everything lines up and is connected, from videos to activities to assessments. And all NZ-based, too! Such a cool idea and so needed! Thanks for all the support you give to teachers!"

  • "The video demos are awesome, and the lesson-based activities are such a time saver. Also, the relief lessons are a good feature."

  • "The ākonga workbooks are awesome! Great clear sequence of lessons, clear objectives, and the cookery demonstrations videos are epic, kids are loving them!"
